As a Community Champion
volunteer you will:
* Provide clear, accurate and impartial information to
residents and families to help them improve their well
being, navigate daily challenges, and make the most of
available support.
* Promote our charitable aims: to advance community
development, reduce isolation, improve access to advice, and
support the health and welfare of people.
* Attend or help organize community events, workshops and
consultation sessions; gather feedback to ensure our work
responds to real local needs.
* Signpost and refer people to legitimate, regulated sources
of support including government schemes, grants, benefits,
training providers, and other registered charities and
statutory services.
We invest in our volunteers
We provide structured training that leads to recognize
qualifications and certificates, supporting both your
personal growth and professional development. This ensures
our work is delivered safely, legally and to a consistent
standard. Training topics include:
* The role and duties of a volunteer in a charitable
organisation
* Safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection
* Equality, diversity and inclusion
* Effective communication and community engagement
* Understanding public entitlements and making appropriate
referrals
* Our commitment to public benefit and charitable governance
